Our Vision

Economic prosperity through collaboration.

Our Mission

Strengthen the local economy by promoting local business initiatives, fostering the development of a skilled workforce and building first-rate, sustainable neighborhoods.

Our Community

Leading the campaign to make the Westside an exceptional place to work and live is the Westside Economic Collaborative, a team of dedicated individuals representing both private and public sectors – business, government and residents – throughout the Westside Communities.  Though diverse in representation, a common thread runs through our membership: the capacity to improve the economic and living conditions of the Westside by helping leaders identify and put into practice ways for creating economic prosperity for all.

Our Programs

The Westside Economic Collaborative (WEC) is a regional nonprofit organization that brings together leaders from all sectors to address issues of business growth, transportation, and workforce development. Our programs include:

  • Connecting businesses with free-of-charge assistance and developing new business resources so that they can thrive in the Westside, providing jobs, services, and wealth.
  • Leading the Westside Workforce & Education Partnership, a coalition of more than 15 workforce development institutions – including LAUSD, Santa Monica College, West Los Angeles College, UCLA, LMU, and regional WorkSource Centers – who together expand opportunities for future employment, coordinate their activities, and better align offerings with the needs of Westside employers.
  • Building livable communities in the Westside where people can live, work, and play. Under this initiative, WEC recently founded the Westside Transportation Partners to lead regional employers and the business community in building an integrated and effective transportation strategy for the Westside. This organization is currently in the process of spinning off from WEC.
  • Convening the Westside Economic Summit. Regional business and civic leaders attended the Sixth Annual Summit on November 2, featuring the Westside Real Estate Forecast with four top brokerage companies.
